Penn State football season is just days away, so what better way to get excited for the first game than to reminisce on what those games are like? With that in mind, here is the Penn State football experience as told by another story of football bringing a community together: Friday Night Lights.
Â
When one of your friends says that they don’t know if they can wake up early to tailgate.
I believe in you.
Â
When you’re trying to figure out the best outfit to wear for the game.
“Has anyone seen my Converse?”
Â
When fans of the opposing team try to trash talk Penn State to you.
That’s so cute.
Â
When the person working at the food stand gives you your chicken basket and you’re overwhelmed with happiness.
Whoops.
Â
And then when you find out that they’re out of dipping sauce but someone offers you one of their extras.
Did we just become best friends?
Â
When the football team waves to the stands and you try to make eye contact with one of them.
You’re in the top row but you’re convinced they saw you.
Â
When one of your guy friends tries to flirt with a girl by offering to throw her up in the air after a touchdown.
He’ll probably drop her.
Â
When Saquon starts hurdling over people.
You know it’s going to happen but you’re still impressed.
Â
When McSorley throws the ball from down the field and someone catches it right in the end zone.
*cue Sweet Caroline*
Â
When the opposing team scores for the first time with minutes left in the game and their fans start getting cocky.
We’re up by five touchdowns but I guess we can pretend this just became a nail-biter if you want.
Â
When Penn State wins because no other school can top our dedication.
Penn State forever.
