Short people always talk about wanting to be taller, and taller people usually talk about how they wish they could be shorter. Seeing as I’ve been 5’2” my whole life, I think I can provide a solid list of the pros and cons of being a short girl:
Pros:
1. Squeezing through a crowd is much easier because of your ~fun~ size.
2. You take up less space in a car, which is great when you and your five friends need to squeeze into the back seat.
3. That moment when someone picks you up and they say, “Wow, you’re really light!” and you can’t help feeling a little smug.
4. You are pretty light, so some people actually wouldn’t mind carrying you if you asked.
5. Limbo is super easy for you.
6. It’s harder for people to find you when you’re hiding.
7. You can scare people by hiding inside a suitcase and popping out dramatically.
8. Whenever people hug you, they completely drape over you and become a nice blanket of warmth.
9. Anyone you date will probably be taller than you (this is only a pro if you’re into that, though).
10. You don’t have to worry about bumping your head on low ceilings.
Cons:
1. Top shelves and high places (I know you know what I’m talking about).
2. Going at a concert and having to peak over shoulders just to see the band.
3. Having a fear of getting trampled when you’re in a sea of tall people.
4. Taller people like to pretend-lean on you and rest their arm on your head.
5. You have to walk twice as fast in order to catch up to taller people’s strides.
6. Clothes that are too big/too long because they were made for taller people.
7. Having to get certain clothes tailored so they don’t drag on the floor.
8. When people hold things over their head and you’re too short to reach it.
9. Always having to sit in people’s laps in cars if there isn’t any space on the seat.
10. People might not be able to find you in crowds easily because you’re so small.
I’d like to think that being short is pretty great, but that’s just because I’ve learned to love me for me…height and all – and you should too! Remember to love yourself, because you’re perfect just the way you are.
