Six Activities to Cross Off your PSU Bucket List Before Summer

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at PSU chapter.

Now in the last week of classes, everyone is preparing for final exams, finishing up projects and getting ready to pack up their dorm room for summer vacation. But since we’ll be away from one of the happiest valleys in the country for close to four months, be sure to make a few stops before you leave.

1.) With the warm weather upon us, head over to Mount Nittany with a group of friends for a hike. The view from the top is breathtaking, and you’ll always remember looking at our beautiful campus from a bird’s eye view.

2.) The Berkey Creamery is always a favorite among Penn Staters old and new, so be sure to get one last scoop of Peachy Paterno or Peanut Butter Swirl before you’re without our famous ice cream for the summer.

3.) If you just can’t wait for summer to start and are looking to have a cookout with your friends head to Whipple Dam State Park.  It offers a bunch of fun outdoor activities like canoeing and kayaking, which are sure to add to your Penn State memories.

4.) Make sure you don’t forget to take a picture at the Lion Shrine and with the Joe Paterno Statue at Beaver Stadium. If you take a picture at these historic places every year you’re a student at Penn State, it will be a great memento to leave with after graduation.

5.) Stop at The Big Onion over in East Halls for one more slice of the buffalo chicken pizza. For all of the New Yorkers out there, you probably will be happy to leave State College pizza behind for the summer, but you should do it anyway… just one last time.

6.) Go downtown to McLanahan’s or The Family Clothesline and treat yourself to one more Penn State t-shirt before summer vacation. Everyone knows you can’t have too much PSU gear.Â
