The new year is here which means, new seasons are being released!
We’ve already got Season 3 of “Emily in Paris,” and now we are waiting to hear when the next season of “Bridgerton” is to be released.
For those of you who don’t know, the show is based on a book series where each novel focuses on one of the eight siblings. What is even more fun about the show is that each sibling story takes on its own literary love trope.
The first season was all about the eldest daughter, Daphne as she tries to combat the rumors of Lady Whistledown (a gossip writer) and the rumors of “vicious mamas” and the rest of the ton.
Her plot’s love trope was what fans like to call “friends to lovers” where she and the infamous Duke try to trick the ton into thinking they’re courting so they can seek out their own wants.
Obviously, as these stories usually go, the two fell in love and became the “match of the season.”
The show is absolutely colorful, from sets to costumes, the show encapsulates the essence of the 1800s. Not to mention the diversity of the cast itself. The creators made this world unlike any other.
And to top it all off, the soundtrack of the show is mostly pop songs in classical form. It surely gives the show a modern twist whilst still keeping to the time period.
Season 2 was released on March 25, 2022 and focused on the eldest brother, Anthony Bridgerton. His character was made out to be the bad guy in season one where he didn’t seem to fully understand his responsibilities and his duties.
This carries on in the second season where he believes it is his duty to get married with no love involved. This doesn’t go as planned when he encounters the Sharma sisters. Simply put, the second season tore at the heartstrings as the love triangle persisted till the very end of the season.
Now, season 3 is approaching, and here is what fans should expect.
First of all, this season will actually focus on the third brother, Colin, and Penelope Featherington. Let’s just say, people are excited to see what is in store!
According to Netflix, the character, Penelope, who has maintained a crush on Colin for a very long time finally gives up on it and decides she should find a husband in this next season just as every other young lady.
After returning from his travels around the world, Colin is excited to speak with his friend, Penelope, but realizes she’s not giving him as much attention as before. It’s easy to assume that Colin has a revelation about his feelings and their story begins.
Unfortunately, the last season ended poorly for the pair after Colin announces he “would never dream of courting Penelope Featherington.” Disrespectful.
Given what Netflix has released, that comment may have been the reason why Penelope pulls back her feelings and focuses on herself. According to Netflix, the season should start off with a bang, as the pair have already had two full seasons to build up their chemistry.
We are in the dark about most of the details in this upcoming season, but “Bridgerton’s” Instagram is not afraid to drop a few behind the scene shots to keep the excitement high.
Besides the upcoming release of Season 3, Season 4 is also confirmed to be underway as well as a prequel series according to Netflix.
