This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Purdue chapter.

Name: Aaron Daniel Winters
Major: Health and Fitness, Nursing
Hometown: Anderson, IN
Activities: Workout; Outdoorsy stuff; Biking; Church
Relationship Status: Taken, sorry ladies!

Her Campus: Tell us one thing that people love about you?
Aaron Winters: Probably that I am just a really upbeat kind of person, I have a contagious personality, a little eccentric. I am definitely “an acquired taste.”

HC: Tell us one thing that people don’t know about you?
AW: I’m pretty much an open book, but not many people know I’m very artistic; I was Art Club President in high school. And weirdly, none of my best friends are American; they’re all from different countries, mainly Britain and Croatia for some reason. Oh, and I was home schooled for five years, that’s probably why I am so interesting… :P

HC: Would you say you’re a nice guy?
AW: Yea!

HC: Why?
AW: Because I genuinely care about people and the quality of their life. I feel empathy towards people I don’t even know. It’s not something I have to force or manufacture, it just happens. And yes, I am nice to girls. I feel like I would hope to be respectful and interested in the person for who they are; in their passions. I feel like with a lot of girls, especially pretty girls, people don’t get past their physical appearance. I think I like doing that.

HC: What do you look for most in a girl?
AW: Probably someone who is down to earth and interested in other people, not self-focused.

HC: What is your biggest turn off?
AW: Bad hygiene! Especially, if a girl doesn’t take care of her hair. In one of my classes, there’s this one girl who always has greasy hair. In my head I’m like, “Girl, use some shampoo!”

HC: What do you love in a girl?
AW: I’m a sucker for athletic girls and girls who don’t take themselves too seriously.

HC: What do you mean?
AW: Its great to be good looking and take care of yourself, but you don’t always have to be a 10. It looks like they have a chip on their shoulder when they are super worried about their clothes and bags and glasses, that’s not attractive to me.

HC: Worst encounter with a girl?
AW:  It was my sophomore year. I really liked this girl in my class and we were in the same study group. We hung out a ton and she really liked me. We talked about relationships and I told her I was just looking for friendship right now. A month later, I got totally into her…but she totally wasn’t interested in me anymore. It was so awkward, having to spend the entire semester in class with her after being “friend–zoned.”

HC: Favorite sports team?
AW:  Boston Red Sox

HC: Boxers or briefs?
AW: Boxer-briefs.

HC: Long hair or short hair on girls?
AW: Long hair, long hair, long hair! Hair is just so beautiful. It’s so feminine and mysterious, and that is so attractive.

HC: Are you a snuggler?
AW: To the max! Like ridiculously.

HC: What’s your idea of a perfect date?
AW: Lots of talking, basically grab coffee and the go do something active outdoors—walk in the park, play Frisbee, go ice skating, or go biking.
