Fall Recipes You Should Try This Year Part 2: Desserts (Without Fruit)

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Purdue chapter.

Like a mentioned last week, I am an avid cook and baker (check out @beccas_good_eats on Instagram). Fall is such a great time of year because of all the wonderful recipes you can make and flavors that we use in the fall. I know a lot of fall desserts contain fruit, but some people I know do not like warm fruit so I figured I would share some other fall options. Here are my top five non-fruit fall desserts! PS, if anyone tries any of these, I would LOVE to see your take on them!

Maple Custard Pie!

Are you kidding?! How amazing! The creamy custard and the sweet maple are literally a match made in heaven. This is a whole new take on a custard pie and total steps it up and embraces fall flavors with that add of maple. (I think I could honestly write an entire article about maple products like cookies, cream, cotton candy, I could go on.)

Macarons… Fall Flavored

Sure, you can make pumpkin or apple or even caramel macarons, but these are smores flavored. The melting ghost acting as the marshmallow, the chocolate and graham cracker cookies, it is all too much for me. These are overall amazing and will make everyone’s fall a bit more exciting.

Pecan Pie

I know two pies was bold, but pecan pie is a classic fall staple. It is also my mom’s favorite, so lowkey was obligated to put it in here! But it is a classic and it is delicious. The sweet filling is so good and should be made everywhere to celebrate the wonderful fall season.

Pumpkin Brownies

I am aware that pumpkin was on my fruit list, but they are basically just fall flavored brownies, so I am counting them as non-fruit. This is the perfect dessert for someone who loves chocolate but also wants to feel fall in their desserts.

Snickerdoodle Cookies

I know that these are slightly basic, but they are classic. They are also perfect for someone who may not be obsessed with fall flavors, but still likes a pinch of fall. These are also one of the simplest recipes for those of you that may not be overly avid bakers.
