When the sun is shining and the weather is heating up, there is nothing I want more than a refreshing drink to cool down with. Here are some recipes I recommend trying while youāre laying out in the sun during a heat wave. Just donāt forget to put on sunscreen.Ā

1. Lavender & Honey Lemonade
Recipe:Ā
- 1 Ā½ cups of lemon juiceĀ
- 8 cups of water
- 1 Ā¾ cups of granulated sugarĀ
- 3-4 Tbsp. dried lavenderĀ
- Ā½ cup of honey
- Blue or purple food coloringĀ
Directions:Ā
- Over a medium heat, combine the water and sugar in a saucepan. When the sugar is dissolved, remove the sugar syrup from the heat and stir in the honey. Let it steep along with the dried lavender. After two hours, strain the lavender out of the sugar syrup when done.Ā
- In a pitcher, combine the lemon juice, lavender mixture, and water. Add a drop of blue or purple food coloring for an added effect. Pour into a cup and top with a lemon wedge.Ā
2. Lime Mojitos (non-alcoholic)
Recipe:Ā
- Ā Ā¾ cup San PellegrinoĀ
- 2 tsp. of lime juiceĀ
- Mint leavesĀ
- IceĀ

3. Strawberry & Basil Iced Tea Ā

- 4-5 family-size tea bags
- 6 cups of waterĀ
- 2 cups of ripe strawberriesĀ
- Ā½ cup granulated sugarĀ
- Basil leaves
- Ice

- Steep the tea bags in a pitcher with ice.Ā
- Combine the strawberries and sugar in a blender.Ā
- Blend.Ā
- Mix in the strawberry puree with the black tea.Ā
- Add in the basil leaves and garnish with sliced strawberries.
4. Grapefruit & Soda Sparkler Ā

- 2 cups pure grapefruit juiceĀ
- 2 cups lemon-lime soda
