As a girl who wakes up late in the morning with messy hair and has no time to take a shower before heading out the door, I decided to give PSSSST! dry shampoo a try. Having oily or greasy hair in the morning is one of the worst things to begin your day with.

Making me feel like a supermodel in a car commercial, having a good hair day gives me a strut in my stride.  However, when I’m having a bad hair day, when my hair is oily and greasy and nothing can be done to salvage it, I feel exactly like Ross does. Sometimes on these days I wonder if it would just be better to go 2007 Britney Spears style and shave off my hair. But of course, I quickly snap myself out of it because shaving off my hair would not be good for anyone.

I’ve always been a bit skeptical about dry shampoo and how it absorbs the oil in my hair. This morning when I was running late (as always), I noticed my hair was a bit greasy. I had no idea what to do with my hair to get it to look at least a little bit presentable, so I decided to try PSSSST! Instant Dry Shampoo. I have the tropical one and although the smell wasn’t great, it was bearable. PSSST! Instant Dry Shampoo comes in four different scents and an unscented one at Ulta.

With dark hair like mine, dry shampoo tends to leave behind a white/grey residue. This is by far a big pet peeve of mine, as I do not want anyone to think I have dandruff or lice! Although this dry shampoo did leave behind a small amount of residue, all I had to do was give my hair a bit of a shake and brush it out. After that, the residue was barely noticeable. The purpose of dry shampoo is to absorb excess oil and give a “clean” feeling. With this dry shampoo, the first feeling I had after using it, was not exactly a “clean” feeling. I felt like the pores on my scalp were getting a bit clogged up and although oil was getting absorbed, my hair still felt a bit greasy. After a while the greasy feeling of my hair wasn’t as strong. One good thing I noticed about this dry shampoo was its ability to give me volume.

Overall, this was not my favorite dry shampoo as I found myself constantly running my hands through my hair to make it feel better. Halfway through the day I found myself putting my hair up in a ponytail. 10/10 would not buy again.
