As October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, it is important to know when to get mammograms and how to give yourself a breast exam. But above that, it is important to spread awareness about the disease. Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity has paired with many national organizations, like the Susan G. Komen Foundation, the National Football League, Yoplait, and Self Magazine to do just that. The NFL and Zeta Tau Alpha have partnered to get male and female football fans alike, to “Think Pink™.” For those Boiler collegiettes™ who watch football, you have surely seen the players, the coaches, the referees, and even the field, decked out in the color pink during the month of October. For each NFL team that “Thinks Pink™,” they have invited the ZTA chapters in the state to volunteer before a home football game to put custom posters on each of the seats in the stadium and to pass out pink ribbons in the tailgate fields for the fans to wear on their jerseys. Purdue University’s own Alpha Theta chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha took to Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 9th to volunteer to the cause that they fight for all year long. Here are some pictures of the Alpha Theta women volunteering their time to fight breast cancer with the Indianapolis Colts.
