Are you a starving student on a tight budget? Not able to spend the money on that expensive headband from American Apparel? Have no fear, DIY is here! With these simple steps and cute options, you can accessorize your outfit with a couple tweaks!
Step One: Materials
There are a couple things that you’re going to need in order to start off your outfit right! You can first choose your bottoms (I went for bold, sparkly shorts), a cute shirt with a sassy saying (Fun-sized, what up?) and your cutest knee-highs! Now for the creative stuff: you’ll need scissors, a stapler, ribbon and printed pictures of clovers (or any other St. Paddy’s day dĂ©cor you want).Â
Â
Step Two: Cutting the ribbon
Make sure that you first measure how long you want the ribbon to be based on the size of your head! I usually unroll a lot of the ribbon and then cut according to the size I want it to be wrapped around my head. Make sure to have extra ribbon length in order to make a bow to secure the note in the headband. Don’t worry if you mess up; I had to try twice.Â
Step Three: Cutting out the clovers
This step is as simple as taking the printed pictures of the clovers and cutting them out. Once you’re done with this, take your stapler and simply staple the clovers to the part of your headband where you want them to show. I cut mine so the clovers would end up right beside the bow.Â
Step Four: Leg Bracelets
Sounds weird, right? This step requires you to again measure the length of your ribbon. This time you want to measure around the area of your leg that is just under your knees. Make sure to leave room to tie a bow! Once you are done this, slip on your knee-highs! Staple the clovers again to the areas of the ribbon you want to show. Tie the ribbon over top of the socks and voila! You have cute leg bracelets!Â
