Brian Tells All: Serious Relationships and Laundry

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Quinnipiac chapter.

How do you feel about a serious relationship in college?

A serious relationship can exist at any place and time and if it feels right then I love it. I’ve only been in one “serious” relationship, which for the sake of this question is at least a year, and wouldn’t you know that I was in college for part of it. One variable is that it was a serious, long-distance relationship. While the relationship is over now I wouldn’t trade it for the world. People say that college is a time for experimentation and part of the experimentation for me was a serious, long-term relationship. Don’t ever hold yourself back from a serious relationship because you think you are wasting your college years. Who knows, that person could become your husband or wife.

What is your ideal date?

For folks that know me I am simple. I don’t like going out to dance clubs or to fancy dinners. I think those are the kind of things that take away from what a date should be about. Dates are meant to be place where you can connect over your feelings or thoughts and less about making a social statement. So my ideal date is a movie at home followed by sitting, listening to music and talking. Little cheesy, but I have far more memories from those dates then going out to get something to eat or whatever else the kids do these days.

How often do guys do their laundry?

Guys do their laundry as soon as they run out of underwear. Anyone that says different is just lying or they have a great wardrobe and plan outfits. It is hard for me to look ahead to decide what I might wear because my outfits are just jeans and concert, sports or surf t-shirts. I have enough jeans to get me through the week and enough t-shirts to get me through a month, but as soon as my undies are out it is time to clean it all.
