Halfway through the spring semester, the weather is still in limbo and the work load seems to just be piling up. Here are a few tips on how to get through the semester and not feel drained.
- Go through your syllabi– Since classes are now on a steady pace and the work seems to be set in stone, go through your syllabi and see what is left for the semester so you can plan ahead. And really this time…plan ahead.
- Plan a fun weekend– Being away from home for this long can be hard for some, and with spring break just a few weeks away, plan to do something fun with your friends at school. Â The QU shuttle runs to the New Haven Train Station, so plan a trip into NYC, or a simple night to the movies. It will keep your mind off of being homesick and give you and your friends a change of pace.
- Clean your room– Midterms and papers are starting to pile up, which can only mean that books and laundry are piling up to.  When you don’t have to much work or on a Sunday morning, do some cleaning.  Getting rid of the dust and cleaning up your desk will make your work space neater and make you less stressed about the cleanliness allowing you to get ample studying done.
- Skype a Friend– You and your friends from home are all over the place now, being in different places. Plan a weekend where you can get together via webcam and catch up on things. The updated Skype now allows you to chat with up to ten people. The more the merrier!
- Work off the Stress– If you’re really feeling the stress mid-semester go to one of the free classes offered at the gym to work it off.  The classes are only an hour and taught by QU students, which makes them fun and exciting.  Plus, they’re offered at all different times and days of the week so there is bound to be one that you can make it to.
