QU How To: Get Bikini Ready In Time for Spring Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Quinnipiac chapter.

Spring break is just weeks away and amazing vacations have been planned filled with warm weather and sun. It’s been months since you’ve worn that bikini, so here are a few tips on how to get bikini ready fast.

  1. Make a goal– Write down your goal in a place where you can see it. Try taping it next to your bed so when you wake up it’s the first thing you see, or on your fridge so you can stop yourself from grabbing those unhealthy snacks.

  2. Hit the gym
    – Start working in 30 minutes at the gym at least four days a week.  If you do, it will kickstart your metabolism and allow you to achieve your ultimate goal. Even if you don’t hit your target, if you start working in the gym now it will help you add it into your daily routine and in the long run help benefit your health!
  3. Create a Balanced Diet– One of the hardest parts of working towards your goal is re-learning how to eat at school. A good way to cut out sweets is to drink water instead of sweetened drinks like iced tea and soda. But cutting out sweets completely can be hard, so instead of doing it all at once, slowly start monitoring what you eat and eat less sweets as the days go on. For example, one day if you’re craving something sweet, try eating some fresh fruit or sorbet. This way, your body will slowly get used to less sweets.
  4. Don’t Stress on the number– It’s just a number. It doesn’t matter what it says as long as you’re healthy and happy. Also, no one needs to know what the number is, so if the conversation comes up just steer it in the direction of what you did to feel good about yourself.
  5. Hold Your Head High– Even if you don’t hit your goal, by just working on exercise and a proper diet there is bound to be a change in your body, whether small or large, so hold your head up high and be proud of your success.
