QU How To: Throw the Perfect SUPERBOWL Party

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Quinnipiac chapter.

The Superbowl is approaching, and throwing the perfect party is a great opportunity to get everyone excited for one of the biggest sporting events of the season.  Here are some tips on how to throw the perfect Superbowl party.

  1. Send a Facebook invite– Make a list of who you want to have at the event, then send them an invite on Facebook with all the details. Since the game does fall on a Sunday, send the invite in advance so people can plan ahead and they have something to look forward to.
  2. Pick a Side– When inviting people, make a rule that they have to wear the color of the team they’re supporting (green and gold for the Packers or black and gold for the Steelers). Then decorate your apartment to the team you’re rooting for. It will make it fun to hear everyone banter back and forth as the game progresses.

  3. Try something new– One of the greatest things that goes with football is food, so it’s the perfect time to try out some new recipes!  Research some new simple recipes to make for game day (try the Food Network). It will add a personal touch and keep everyone satisfied throughout the game.
  4. Make it Interesting– Before the game starts, come up with a game that you can play while the Superbowl is on.  Come up with a bunch of questions regarding the game, you can even include the commercials and half time show, like what do you think the score will be by the end of the second quarter?  What celebrities will show up in the commercials? etc.  Have everyone fill out a survey. The one who gets the most questions right wins a prize.
  5. Make Game Day Inspired Drinks– If you’re 21, make drinks that go with the team. Try Apple Martinis for the Packers or Beer Margaritas for the Steelers.  There are tons of beverage recipes online, and if you’re underage, regular flavored drinks like Mountain Dew and Ginger ale go great too!
