Staying Classy at Toads

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Quinnipiac chapter.

Now that all of the undergrads at Quinnipiac are settled into their normal school routines, we can concentrate on not forgetting that we can let loose on the weekends. It seems to be that the most popular place to go out to is Toads Place in New Haven. It’s fine and dandy to get dressed up in your short dresses and stilettos, but is it time to put those ridiculous outfits away and wear something more sensible?

My experiences at Toads have been interesting to say the least. Seeing tons of girls in skimpy dresses barely covering their butts with high heels I couldn’t even walk in and I’ve been here for three years. These girls basically choose to wear nothing. In a world where most girls want to be in a serious, committed relationship with a guy…and we wonder why we can’t find one. If girls keep making the decision dress in these scandalous outfits, men are only going to think one thing when they see them, but that’s for another article.

Here are a few easy steps to keeping it classy at Toads Place:

1. It’s great to show a little skin, but your butt definitely does not need to be hanging out. If the skirt or dress does not reach your lower calf muscle then it’s too short.

2. Also, we don’t want to see your breasts hanging out either. You don’t want to come off as being too easy because that is the only thing the guy is going to be thinking about. You can still look sexy when they’re not out all on display. Cover those babies up!

3. If you can’t walk around your room in those stilettos…then you’re definitely not going to be able to handle Toad’s in those. Flats are a great alternative.

4. Don’t consume so much alcohol where you end up not being able to stand up on your own just waiting on the line to get into Toads. That’s just an excuse for guys to laugh at you. Keep your cool.

Toads is a crazy and exciting place so dress up, look sexy, and have fun. Just don’t throw it all out there the first chance you get. For cute outfits try shopping at Forever 21. So when you rummage through your closet for your next hot outfit, remember that dressin classy and fabulous is the way to go!
