It’s Spooktober you guys, and that means the pit has opened up and released the challenge of the month which is Inktober! Now there has already been one article for our campus about Inktober. But this is an article on how you can support Regent artists through Inktober, and some artists to follow.

While art is afoot this month and artists finally leave their spooky dwellings an opportunity is created. The opportunity is to support and encourage your local artists. For the entire month, find some artist to watch and observe as they conjure pieces following the daily prompts. As fans of art as well as Christian students, we need to help one another, encourage, and lift one another up. And some of the people who often most need that encouragement are artists.

As artists, going from a college atmosphere to the workforce is extremely discouraging. A lot of people don’t recognize the importance of art and artists, and if they do, they don’t help, encourage, or support. The less interest shown in their work, the less important artists feel their calling is. Some artists do well with no support, but for the most part, the way artists improve or create better work is when they know what people are looking for, what interests them. But if they have no interaction with their audience, how are they going to know what that is, and how are they going to stay motivated? If you’re not an artist but you still want to participate in Inktober, find some artists and encourage them. Comment on their work, motivate them, like their work, share it with others, and if you want, maybe purchase some prints.

If you want some Regent students to support and encourage during their transition from college artist to professional artist, look these guys up.
