Spring break is right around the corner, even though it may seem so far away with all of the schoolwork professors are assigning. Midterm exams and papers may cause students to ditch the gym and hit up the library for long periods of time without breaking.Â
Â
The truth is that studying without taking breaks is unhealthy. A recent psychological study at the University of Illinois found that “when faced with long tasks (such as studying before a final exam or doing your taxes), it is best to impose brief breaks on yourself. Brief mental breaks will actually help you stay focused on your task!”Â
