The new film The Essentials, by RIT graduate Brendan Nagle, premiered Friday night at The Cinema Theatre in Rochester.
The Essentials is described as a “Rochester based, spy-comedy.” The film is about an ex-spy, played by Jim Toepper, who goes rogue. His former Agency bails him out for his mistakes and tells him that this is the last favor he will get from them. Jim then recruits a younger guy to help him solve one more case about a drug-smuggling ring in Canada.
The Essentials is Nagle’s first feature film. It was filmed in Rochester with an entire cast and crew from the Rochester area. For more information on where the film will be shown next, go to thebrendannagle.com. Tickets are $8 for general admission, $5 with student ID.
