Halloween is not merely a time for trick-or-treating, haunted houses, or wild parties, it is also the perfect time to watch a feel-good movie! Just because it’s Halloween, you are not obligated to suffer through Insidious, The Ring, or Nightmare on Elm Street. Some of us just aren’t about that horror film life, and that’s okay because, much like the array of different candies given out, there are plenty of movies to cater to everyone’s specific tastes.
What better way to relax on Halloweekend after the frenzy of midterms than to lay down and destress with a few “not-so-scary” movies from our childhood? Here are 5 Halloween movies that will make you feel nostalgic while still bringing out that spooky spirit in you!
Â
1.     The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
Whether you think of it as a Halloween or Christmas movie, it remains one of the ultimate holiday movies to watch. It’s heartwarming, spooky, and all around fun!
Â
2.     Casper (1995)
Watching this movie always makes me want to have a ghost friend (which is saying a lot because I get scared easily…and that’s an understatement.) Â
Â
3.     Hocus Pocus (1993)
Behold the three coolest witches.
Â
Â
4.     It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (1966)
It’s a classic. What more can I say?
Â
Â
5.     Halloweentown (1998)
It’s the feel-good movie that will make you wish Rochester celebrated Halloween year-round!Â

Happy Halloween, collegiettes!
