Shelby Hall is a senior on the field hockey team, which is off to a fantastic 8-2 start. They are currently ranked 18th in the country, and Hall leads the team in point (25).
How does it feel to have the team doing so well this year?
I’m very excited for our success, but we are all level-headed and realize that there is a lot of season left. I hope we can stay this successful.
How do you think playing field hockey has impacted your college experience?
Well I’m really popular (lol). But I have made a lot of great friendships both on and off the team. It is a good way to keep me involved on campus.
Are you involved in anything else on campus besides field hockey?
I am the secretary of VSAAC, I am a TA for biochem, and I do research for a cancer and aging lab.
How do you manage your time between all those things?
Athletics help a lot actually. I am used to being busy. But I also work very hard; if I am not on the field I am usually in the library.
What are your plans for after college?
I’m going to take a year off and hopefully get a job in the clinical setting to gain experience to eventually apply for PA school.
Do you have any advice for underclassmen, especially athletes?
Manage your time well, but don’t forget to have fun because these four years go by very quickly.Â
