The first time I heard of a jade roller I probably thought the same thing as most people: a gimmicky fad that doesn’t actually work. I couldn’t imagine how ridiculous I would look moving a paint roller looking contraption all over my face. Well, folks, I must say I was wrong–very wrong. I didn’t think rolling a stone on my face would actually make it look different, but it truly does!  Apparently, jade rollers (or facial rollers in general) have been used for centuries, dating all the way back to ancient China. According to Women’s Health Magazine, jade rollers help tighten the skin. It rolls out “lymphatic fluids” in your face to de-puff your skin. Furthermore, they help your skin absorb products as well, so most people will use them in conjunction with serums and moisturizers in their skincare routine.

Lymphatic fluids? Sounds like a scam. But after doing my research, I did notice that in the morning my face seemed puffy and maybe the reason really was this so called lymphatic fluid. I went to my local TJ Maxx and invested in a cheap jade roller to see what the hype was about.

Before vs After

The next particularly puffy morning, I broke out my radiance serum and began to roll away in upward strokes. As you can see in the picture, I rolled only the right side of my face and did not touch the left. I could definitely see a difference! My right cheekbones and jawline looked more defined and my eye looked more awake. I was surprised that this weird product actually worked. Now my jade roller is part of my morning routine. I love the way it makes my whole face look fresh and awake. I highly recommend trying a jade roller yourself. You will not be disappointed!
