Best Spots to Take Your Bestie for the Fall Season

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Rutgers chapter.

Fall is the best time of the year, your argument is invalid! With all the fun of fall, it is especially nice to have someone to share it with. I love going places with my girlfriends and doing fall-themed girls trips/nights. You can do the same! Here are some of the best local and drivable NJ spots to take your bestie this fall!

  1. Casola Farms

Growing up a Monmouth County girl, this has always been one of my favorite fall destinations. They have everything from fun fall treats to haunted hayrides! They also have the best selection of mums for your decorating needs!

  1. The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Met is always a good idea! But this year it is especially great. With the Met Gala happening later than usual for 2021 the fashion exhibit is a fresh and fun little girls trip! The train system at Rutgers makes it especially easy to get to New York!

  1. Happy Day Farm

Located in Manalapan Township, NJ, this farm is adorable and has a lot of pick your own options! Earlier in the fall, they have sunflowers! They also do a fall harvest in the season that is fun and festive for fall!

  1. Sleepy Hollow, NY

Sleepy Hollow is a little over an hour to drive from Rutgers and has a lot of cute Halloween events! They have a parade, a Farmer’s Market, and some headless horseman-themed events! While we need to continue to be safe during COVID, this is a fun day trip to consider!

  1. Salem, MA

Maybe you’re looking for a weekend trip rather than a day trip. Salem, MA is the perfect place to get in the fall spirit. Salem is a small city on the water with perfect fall vibes.  It’s about a five-hour drive from Rutgers campus so it’s the perfect Friday to Sunday trip! There are a lot of historic sites that will tell you the story of the Salem Witch Trials, and the scenery is gorgeous!

  1. Central Park

Who doesn’t love a nice day in the park? Grab some coffee and walk around Central Park. You can enjoy all the wonders of fall while visiting various statues and markers in Central Park! It is also a perfect photoshoot destination.

  1. Fright Fest,Six Flags

It may be a bit on the pricey side, but Fright Fest is a lot of fun. It is the perfect place to get scared with your bestie! You can go earlier before sunset to go on rides and then get scared after dark!

Fall truly is a magical season! It is fun to get some time to spend with good friends doing fun spooky activities.
