Quick Breakfast Recipes That Will Make You On Time for Class

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Rutgers chapter.

Things I need to stop doing this semester:

  1. Waking Up Late

  2. Skipping Breakfast – the most important meal of the day

  3. Using the excuse that I couldn’t eat breakfast because I had to get ready and be on time for class

Here are some quick on the go breakfast recipes for every college girl that will make you both on time for class and not hungry throughout lecture. We’ve all had our stomach roar from hunger and yes, it has been during the absolute quietest times in lecture.

Avocado Toast with Egg

Avocado Toast is very big these days and everyone seems to love it! Here’s how you can try the toast everyone has recently been obsessing over:

  • Toast your choice of bread

  • Slice up an avocado and add a dash of pepper and salt

  • Boil 2 Eggs and add them on top of the avocado

Optional: Nuts can be added as an additional topping.

Not a fan of eggs or avocados? Try Banana & Blueberry Toast instead!

Yogurt  with Fresh Fruits and Granola

Yogurt is a very quick, easy, and on the go breakfast that will take less than 5 minutes to prepare! To spice up your plain Greek yogurt try adding fresh berries like strawberries, blackberries, and raspberries. Crunch it up with one of your favorite types of granola!

Smoothies

What’s awesome about smoothies is that you can blend up all of your favorite things- whether it’s fruit you can’t live without, a specific juice/milk, spinach, etc you can create an on-the-go beverage. Simply blend and pour it into your favorite tumbler. Smoothies almost always create such gorgeous colors and everyone on the Rutgers bus will be wondering what your drinking!

Homemade Oatmeal

One morning try making oatmeal from scratch by using Quaker Oats.  It will taste better but ultimately, it will be healthier for your body because there aren’t tons of added sugars. To add additional flavor cut up fresh strawberries or fruit of your choice.

Fresh Fruit

If you’re really running late grab a banana, apple, or orange and head for the door. Your stomach will thank you later because you won’t be starving throughout lecture and it will hold you over until lunchtime. Remember, something little like fruit is better than nothing at all!
