Woody’s Cafe on Busch Campus

Tucked far behind the Library of Science and Medicine on Busch Campus, Woody’s Cafe provides a nice alternative to traditional dining hall food with custom-made wraps, fresh baked goods, and plenty of dorm snacks (including Ben & Jerry’s).

Because of its remote location on Busch, many students don’t even know where Woody’s is! But if you just hop on an A, H, or B and get off at the LSM bus stop, you can grab yourself a quality meal and avoid Brower for another day.

Nestled alongside Voorhees Hall and Zimmerli Art Museum on College Avenue Campus, the Art Library serves as a quiet refuge from busy campus life (unlike, ahem, its neighbor Alexander) and has ample individual and group seating.

The Art Library also provides free outlets, computers, and couches–and many beautiful paintings and sculptures from Zimmerli are displayed in every study space!

Ahhhhhh, Neilson. Always being upstaged by its rival Livingston Dining Commons.

Neilson is often overlooked because of its remote location near the Katzenbach bus stop; nonetheless, both the take-out and the entrees are always fresh, the main dining room encourages family-style meals, and there is always a diverse array of options! If you ever find yourself by Hickman Hall or the Eagleton Institute, be sure to try it out (unless you live on Livi, of course).

Livi C Computer Lab

If you’re stuck on Livi between classes, or need someplace quiet to study, check out the computer lab on the first floor of Livi C! You don’t need to live in the building to enter, so don’t worry about that. This lab is less crowded than the ones in Tillett and Kilmer Library. There’s also outlets conveniently located between each computer if you need to charge your phone or laptop. Not to mention, it’s such a short walk from the Plaza bus stop or Livi Student Center.

Mason Gross Bridge

There’s something calming about walking down this bridge located by the Mason Gross School of the Arts.  Surrounded by glass windows and a woodsy backdrop, this bridge creates a sense of quaint isolation, separated from the noisy traffic and crowded spots on campus.  A stroll down this bridge will help you appreciate some of the hidden beauty associated with Douglass campus!

Academic Buildings

Relatively new, so not as crowded or mainstream yet, but the Academic buildings are perfect for studying! There are so many floors so you can just pick one, find a chair, and start doing homework. One of my best memories of working here was when a hard working dog sat across from me. It was great. (Dogs not guaranteed to be in the Academic buildings every time). Fun fact: The buildings are connected underneath on the lowest floor!
