Saint Patrick’s Day is around the corner, and there’s nothing short of things to do here in Sacramento. However, in case you feel a little lost, I have put together a list of fun events to go to this St. Patrick’s Day.
1. The 23rd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade at the Old Sacramento WaterFront

This event takes place on March 16th from 11am-3pm. The parade will begin on 1124 2nd Street here in Sacramento. This parade will be centered around Irish culture and entertainment. A parade consists of marchers, dancers, reactors, etc. The musicians will start performing at 11am. So be there early to find a good spot and parking! For more information please visit Sacramento Carpe Diem. This is a fun event to watch with your family and friends to celebrate Irish culture this St. Patrick’s Day. The theme is all around Irish, from Irish music to Irish dancing. So, come on and have a taste of Irish culture.
2. Cooking as a Second Language at HIUSA Sacramento

This St. Patrick’s-themed cooking class will take place on March 17th from 12pm till 3pm. It will be at 925 H Street in Sacramento at the HIUSA Sacramento Hostel. HIUSA is partnering up with chef Kara Ricciardi, founder of Stretchy Pants. The event costs $10. This cooking workshop will showcase an authentic Irish meal. You will prepare Guinness brown bread, Irish potato cakes, shamrock cookies and green tea. Space is limited, so make sure you get your tickets now! For more information or to sign up, click here. 3. St. Patrick’s Day High Tea At the Novel Tea

Tea time will be on March 17th from 1pm till 3pm. Also, the fee for this class is $40 and the location for this event will be at 2791 24th St. in Sacramento. It will be centered around Irish high tea to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. You will learn about the tea culture in Ireland and even get to drink the tea you’ve prepared (yes, you’ll be making Irish tea!). You’ll get the pleasure of listening to stories about tea from an Irish expert, who will discuss all things tea; From the role of tea in popular culture in Ireland to the role tea plays in rural life.
