As every summer draws to a close, you can’t wait to get back to your home away from home. When you got to campus, you were super excited to see all your friends, sorority sisters, frat brothers, and professors that are like your second mom. However, once you’re one month in and classes have actually began, the stress starts to catch up with you and you think back a few weeks to one of the happiest times of the year: Syllabus week at SHU.
1. You were super excited to find out your friends are in your classes with you
2. But not super excited when they handed you the syllabus and you realized you did not sign up for this much work (and now it’s actually starting to kick in)
3. You considered dropping a class or two … until you realize you’ll just have to survive on endless amounts of wine
4. TBT to when your professor said, “Open your textbooks to Chapter 1” when you thought you were finishing class early after going over the syllabus
5. You realized you already have about 14 essays, 3 projects, and 6 presentations due by, like, the first few weeks of class
6. You contemplated many times whether or not it’s too early in the semester to skip a class and sleep in instead
7. You decided to actually look presentable for the first week, knowing that once the second week hit … it’d be back to a t-shirt, leggings, and flip-flops
8. You told yourself countless times you’re actually going to remain organized this semester, but you know it won’t last (and it already hasn’t)
9. But no matter what happened throughout the year, you realize that this year will be just like the last: Full of stress, kind of depressed, and not even kind of well-dressed
10. But we wouldn’t have had it any other way! We’re still alive, after all ….. .
