Weekends in college are some of the best times to grab your best friends and head out on an adventure. From brunch spots to beautiful beach views there is always something to do around Sacred Heart. Although schoolwork can become overwhelming in college, I never want to spend my weekends in the library, so why can’t you do both? In between studying for midterms there is always time to go do some much needed retail therapy- shopping!

Sometimes Sundays call for a girls shopping day. After all, it is one of the best therapies. Fortunately, we are surrounded by some great thrift and antique shops, like Mongers Market in Bridgeport, Connecticut. There are rooms far and wide filled with antique furniture, and vintage thrifting finds galore. The Jewelry and Belt selection was decadent with years of wear and love within each piece. Just head one town over to Fairfeild where there is one of the best Goodwill Thrift shops I have been to this day. Some of the best selections they have are women’s blazers, businesswear, as well as the men’s hoodie section overflowing with golden gems. Although many people don’t love this chain, I personally am a fan. Plato’s Closet in Orange and Danbury have some great denim and pant finds. Although some of the sections tend to be dated, the prices at both locations are not overpriced at all.

Lastly, if you are up for more of a drive, head over to Naugatuck, Connecticut, home of Retail 101. This warehouse is overflowing with discarded Free People, Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters items. Get ready to have to dig, and bring water because the lines are long and hot, but there is seriously nothing better than finding something you didn’t even know you were looking for. So next time you spend too much of your weekend in the library, get up and take a break; treat yourself to something sweet and grab some of your friends for these great thrifting adventures.
