Let’s Get Personal
Viki: You’ve almost successfully completed your second year of college. What has your favorite part been so far?
Katie: Probably being able to meet people from all over the country. I’m a commuter, and a fourth of my graduating high school class is here at SHU. The school’s diverse student body has allowed me to become more outgoing and expand my horizons.
Â
Viki: I understand, I feel the same way. Speaking of getting to know people, what’s something not too many people know about you?
Katie: I’ve been debating for several years on whether I want to be a lady pastor. Yay Lutheranism!
Â
Viki: How interesting! So if you had to pick just one, what would be your life motto?
Katie: “There’s power in looking silly and not caring what other’s think.” This sentence has gotten me through a lot of stuff.
Â
Viki: That’s a good way to look at life. So we know what you’re involved in on campus, but what about during your time off campus?
Katie: I have an off-campus job, and I volunteer off-campus. I also run a self-worth blog on Tumblr and have over 20,000 followers, which takes up a good chunk of my time.
Â
Viki: That’s amazing! 20,000 followers? That’s a great accomplishment, and I’m sure you’re helping a lot of people through it. So I bet everyone’s curious; what’s the first thing you look for in a significant other?
Katie: Someone who has a sense of humor and someone and who doesn’t change who they are depending on who they’re with.
Â
Viki: That makes sense. I’m sure that’s something we all look for in a partner. Okay, last question…Do you have any guilty pleasures?
Katie: Binge watching Netflix and eating as much sushi as humanly possible.
