From the fierce halftime performance starring Jennifer Lopez and Shakira, to Demi Lovato’s emotional National Anthem performance, Super Bowl 54 was one to remember (I can’t comment on anything about the actual game due to my lack of football understanding). The commercials were well done, with celebrity appearances such as Post Malone for Bud Light Seltzer and the power couple John Legend and Chrissy Teigen for Genesis Vehicles.

The celebrity presence within commercials and the halftime show was impressive, however there were many more celebs present at the big game that weren’t featured on television. Firstly, my favorite celebrity appearance of Super Bowl 54 came to my attention when I saw a Tweet from Amazon’s CEO Jeff Bezos who stood alongside Lizzo. This is just such an iconic pair. Bezos tweeted, “I just took a DNA test, turns out I’m 100% @lizzo’s biggest fan”. It’s cool how events like this bring such unconventional mixes of people together.

Of course, A Rod was also there to support his stunning wife’s half-time performance. Additionally, Cardi B was seen at the game, with Quavo and Offset. Shakira even covered Cardi’s song, “I Like It” during the show. Cardi danced to her rendition and was honored that veterans in the industry like Shakira and J Lo would use her song.

The dynamic duo, Beyonce and Jay Z attended the game as well, and even raised controversy for not standing during the National Anthem. Jay Z has been a major advocate for social justice, and has been a supporter of Colin Kaepernick for years. Besides the controversy however, Jay Z deserves attention for co-producing such a well done halftime show.

It wouldn’t be a Super Bowl without Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, even if they aren’t playing. Brady, along with Robert Kraft, Bill Belichick and former player, Gronk. The Patriots came dressed to impress in matching red suit jackets, and were a great addition to the celebrity appearances at this year’s Super Bowl.
