Anyone that knows me knows how much I love One Direction. From What Makes You Beautiful to Drag Me Down, I’ve supported them through thick and thin. When the group decided that they were going on a hiatus, my heart was broken and I didn’t know what was to come for these four boys or if I would like the new music each of them were putting out.
Ever since the start of this hiatus, each of the boys have put out their own music, with singles from Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson, and an album from Harry Styles. Niall Horan added to all that by putting out his own album two weeks ago, ‘Flicker’.
Contrary to the pop music commonly heard in the entirety of One Direction’s discography, Niall’s album focuses on a more folky/Fleetwood Mac inspired music style. Fans got a sneak peak of the album when Horan released singles ‘This Town’, ‘Slow Hands’ and ‘Too Much to Ask’, all of which had different sounds to them, promising for a good album. From songs like ‘On The Loose’ to ‘Paper Houses’ the album is filled with songs of different paces and beats.
Even if you weren’t a fan out One Direction’s music, ‘Flicker’ offers a different sound that many different people can enjoy. Niall Horan truly proved himself to the music world after the release of this album, showing different musical sides towards him.
