13 Life Lessons Miranda Lambert Has Taught Us

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Saint Mary's chapter.

A few nights ago, I put on my red flannel, slipped on my old cowgirl boots, and cranked up the music to get ready to hear one of my favorite country singers in concert, Miranda Lambert. Now, she might not have the typical Taylor Swift vibe to her music that makes us think she tore a page out of our diary, but her music and performances are real and make a statement. She puts the bad in badass and shows us that us girls are stronger than we are cut out to be. From dealing with mean girls to cheating boyfriends and losing a loved one, Miranda Lambert exposes what we are really thinking without a filter. When her concert lights went on, her performance consisted of clips of powerful women in history like Amelia Earhart. She stands for empowering girls to be strong, let loose, and be who you are. Check out these life lessons that Miranda’s music teaches us.

1. Killing them with kindness is the most impactful yet classy way to deal with mean girls.

“Only Prettier”

2.  It is okay to go crazy sometimes after a heart break.

“Mamma’s Broken Heart”

3.  Always stay true to yourself and remember where you come from.

4.  Never give a man who has hurt you a second chance

“Gunpowder and Lead”

5. Cheaters don’t deserve you.

5. Pretending to be someone you’re not only drains you at the end of the day.

6. Show off what makes you happy.

7.  The guy in a relationship can be a lot for a girl to handle.

8. Your partner in crime is always your best friend.

9. Don’t care what others thinks of you and have fun with your life.

10. There are some things we can never get over.

“Over you”

11. We all have flaws that we shouldn’t be judged by.

“Heart Like Mine”

12. Don’t let society hold you back from what you want.

13. Take risks and be a little rebellious.

“Something Bad”

Thank you Miranda Lambert for influencing girls all around to be strong and fight back when people put them down, all while staying the fabulous person that they are.
