Fall break is just around the corner and most of us are pretty excited to go back home to take a break from school, even if it’s only for a week. We’re not as excited to leave our closest Belles (separation anxiety at its finest), so let’s not focus on that element. This next week and a half includes midterms, crazy-busy schedules, and two more football games to try to fit into our already hectic lives. If anyone has seen The Office (one of the greatest sitcoms in my humble opinion), Michael Scott understands how we feel going into fall break.
1. Preparing for midterms, exams, and other projects before the 10/16 deadline is hectic, and sometimes we can’t help but be incoherent due to the various subjects demanding our undivided attention.
2. Sometimes our brains are so fried that pretty much nothing is comprehendible. Yet, we’re expected to know half of the textbook inside and out, praying that putting it under our pillow to sleep on will somehow let our brains absorb that much information in so little time (still trying this out even though I’m a senior).
3. Exhaustion. I’ll leave it at that.
4. If you’re familiar with the “College Triangle,” you have to pick 2 things to keep: school, social life, or sleep. Sleep is never the winner for college kids, and it’s as evident before fall break as it is at the end of the semester (not saying the word because I’m 0% ready for them). We don’t make intuitive sense when we’re in class and we haven’t slept sufficiently, but hey, that’s college… #TeamNoSleep
5. Sometimes, we just have to eat sweets/junk food as a way of destressing ourselves. That’s perfectly OK, and you should go for it. Ice cream and popcorn > healthy food
6. After we turn in our final assignments/papers/exams, we’re so thrilled that our hell week(s) is/are over. We don’t care about the grade until we get back, so we’re feeling fierce and fabulous! You got this, ladies—we’re in the home stretch! Go Belles!
