Campus Cutie: Lauren Lindbloom ’16

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Saint Mary's chapter.
Name: Lauren Lindbloom
Hometown: New Lenox, IL
Major: Accounting

Campus activities: I am the Vice President of Internal Affairs for SGA and a member of the Lady Accountants of Tomorrow Club.

How did you end up at SMC? My brother went to Notre Dame and I always thought I would eventually end up there, too. It wasn’t until I visited him at school my junior year of high school and my parents decided to take a drive around the Saint Mary’s campus. I immediately fell in love with the campus and ever since then, I knew I was meant to be here!

What made you choose accounting? I chose accounting because I really liked my first accounting class that I took at Saint Mary’s. It was a brand new concept for me and I really enjoyed going to class everyday. I also chose it because the accounting profession has great job security and I wanted to think ahead for my future.

Do you have any post grad plans? Post grad – I don’t even want to think about that right now. I haven’t even accepted that I’m a senior! With that being said, I have some plans after that dreaded g-word. I want to go to on a trip to Ireland after graduation with some of my friends that I studied abroad with. Other than that, I will be studying for the CPA exam!

What has been your best experience at SMC? My best experience at SMC is by far my study abroad experience. I studied abroad in Ireland my second semester of my sophomore year. I was able to travel all around Ireland as well as other countries in Europe. During my time there, I met some of my best friends and learned so much about myself. I had the time of my life and overall it was such an amazing experience!

Spirit animal: Dog

One Direction or Justin Bieber: One Direction

Do you have any nicknames? In high school my friends called me LoLo. Now in college, my friends call me “chube.” It’s kind of an odd nickname, so let me explain. When I was studying abroad, some friends and I took a trip to London. We rode the subway and in London they call it the “tube.” It happens to be spelled t-u-b-e, but they pronounce the “t” with a “ch” sound, so therefore it sounds like “chube.” I thought this was funny so I decided to say “ch” on everything and that’s when I became “chube.”

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life what would it be? Pizza

Favorite TV show? Suits

Celebrity Crush: (only one????)  Henry Cavill and Jimmy Fallon

Thanks, chube!
