On March 3, 2017, Ed Sheeran gifted the world with yet another masterpiece when he released his album, Divide. It only seems fitting that the album would be released during midterms week. Whether I was using the new music to procrastinate or cry to after those hours of studying, Divide was there for me. Â
Â
Finally, after a yearlong hiatus, Ed Sheeran is back. And he came back stronger than ever. Here were some of my reactions to Ed’s work of art.
Â
Is he trying to break me? Galway Girl is bringing back ALL those study abroad feels. As if my Facebook time hop wasn’t hard enough to see every day, Ed’s gotta go and make the most beautiful song ever. P.S I might not be a Galway Girl but I wouldn’t mind falling in love with an English man. Â
Â
Bibia Be Ye Ye. This one just makes me want to dance. Ed definitely mastered it with a variety of songs on this album. How does he do it? Â
Â
Eraser has a different feel to it but if you listen to the lyrics you get snip-its of his music career. This song really shows off how well-rounded Ed is as an artist, both as a writer and as a performer.Â
Can Nancy Mulligan get any cuter?? No. The answer is no.
Â
Supermarket Flowers. I don’t have words to describe this one, besides simply beautiful. A simple melody yet powerful lyrics. If you haven’t heard it, do yourself a favor and change that. Â
I could write something about every single song, but if you’ve listened to the album, I think we can all agree Ed Sheeran is a musical genius. So once again, shout out to Ed Sheeran for sharing his gifts with the world.
