How to Dress for Fall When It Feels Like Summer

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Saint Mary's chapter.

Even though the temperatures still want to keep you sweating, if you’ve been feeling the need to break out your fall wardrobe, you still can!

1. Pair sweaters with skirts or shorts.

Maybe the temperatures still making you sweat, but balancing a light sweater with a pair of shorts or a skirt will help keep you cool while allowing you to feel like it’s fall.

2. Wear warm colors.

Even if you’re wearing short sleeves and shorts, wearing warm ranges of colors will help you embrace the fall when the leaves finally do change.

3. Pair floral patterns with boots.

Even though florals are reminiscent of spring and summer, pairing the patterns with boots helps ground them in the autumn theme.

4. Accessorize for Autumn.

Pairing summery outfits with scarves, cardigans, and jewelry to add flair.

5. When in doubt: add layers.

Tying a flannel around your waist or adding a cute cardigan can help shift your summery look into one made for cooler weather.
