Like most people, I often find myself scrolling through hundreds of Netflix titles only to decide that there isn’t anything interesting to watch. Throughout our elementary years we are taught to never judge a book by its cover, though many of us are guilty of doing this when using the movie streaming app.
In reality, the description and short previews of Netflix titles only give us a small glimpse into the show or films’ potential. Recently, I’ve attempted to break away from my preferences and discover titles I would have never clicked on.
- Black Mirror
I recently gave this show a chance and I must admit I was immediately hooked. The series explores a world where humanity’s high-tech innovations become their downfall.
2. Gerald’s Game
You know you’re in for a wild ride when Stephen King is involved. A couple goes on a romantic getaway to rekindle their marriage and… I won’t give any spoilers.
3. Orange is the New Black
This series follows the life of female inmates at Litchfield Penitentiary. As you would expect, every day at Litchfield is eventful. The show is not only hilarious, it also calls attention to relevant issues in society today. You’re probably heard of this one, but if you’re not up to date, it’s time to catch up.
4. Big Mouth
Ahh Big Mouth, a show about teenagers navigating their way through puberty. If you’re into vulgar material like Family Guy and South Park, you might want to give this show a try.
5. The Walking Dead
Yes, it’s about a zombie outbreak, but the storyline and characters are likeable as well. You must admit, how exciting it is to fall in love with a character only to see them killed off in a later season.
6. iZombie
A woman’s life is turned upside down when she becomes a zombie. Her tribulations relating to adjusting to being dead and love makes this show worth watching.
Happy Viewing!
