So you’re a week, a month, or even a year plus into your job and there’s this recurring thought you have of quitting. We’ve all been there at least once and, honestly, some of us will be there many, many more times but sometimes we can’t help but wonder whether this thought should be acted upon. Don’t fret, Her Campus is here to help you with some signs that you should definitely quit your job.
1. You dread going to work.

If you wake up in the morning and you feel this anxiety and sadness come over you at the thought of going to work for the next eight hours, you should quit your job. You spend so much time at work without even realizing it and if you don’t feel at least slightly motivated to go or you spend your time thinking, “I just need to get through today,” every single day, that is a big indicator that this job is not the right fit for you.
2. You don’t like your boss.

Okay, this may not be the best reason to leave a job because who actually really likes their boss? But if it becomes a problem to the point where you are more upset at work than happy, you should definitely consider leaving your job.
3. You’re falling behind in school.

If you feel like this cat when it comes to classes that’s one of the biggest signs that you should not stay at your job. School is so important and you’re paying so much money to be there so this is where most of your attention should stay! It’s important to keep up, especially when finals are just around the corner and the assignments you do (or don’t do) could seriously help (or harm) your grades.
4. You aren’t happy.

This is probably one of the most important reasons that anyone should think about when they think about quitting their job. It’s nice to make money, there’s no getting around that, but is your cash flow worth giving up your happiness? There’s always other jobs that will be hiring and even if you’re unemployed for a little bit you should place your happiness ahead of anything else because life is too short to have a job that brings your shine down.
There are so many more reasons to quit, but these are very important to take into consideration when you’re thinking about quitting your job since it is such a big decision. Just remember that either way, if you do or don’t quit your job, you’ll end up okay!
