Met Gala Monday took place on May 6th with the theme “Garden of Time”. The theme went hand in hand with the spring exhibition “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” at the Costume Institute. I thought I’d give a rundown of my favorite looks for those who celebrate.Â

As the actress who portrayed the live-action sleeping beauty, this was her night and she did not disappoint. Balmain’s glassy transparent gown gave the impression that she was enveloped in a beautiful ice sculpture. It’s elegant, it’s chic, it’s her, and most importantly, it’s on theme.Â

I might be a little biased when it comes to Jeff Goldblum, I love anything and everything this man does. I love that he didn’t show up in a plain tux and added some garden flare to his jacket with a collection of brooches. Overall, I think he looks very dapper and dazzling.Â

This is how you do simple but on theme. This custom Del Core flower dress is a really fun take on the garden of time. It’s not too overwhelming but it is still beautiful and reminds me of Barbie fairytopia.Â

The first thing I should mention about this outfit is that the butterflies on her arms move. Mona Patel is an Indian fashion mogul who made her Met Gala debut wearing custom Iris Van Herpen. Maintaining the Garden of Time theme, Patel’s butterfly corset dress has a surprising amount of detail. Let’s not forget the mechanical gloves.Â
