The TV adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s book Daisy Jones & the Six has taken the world by storm in the last couple weeks, with the series topping the US Prime Video charts and their debut album, Aurora, topping the US iTunes charts. The series is reminiscent of Fleetwood Mac, telling the story of a band rising to fame in the 70’s that is ultimately torn apart by complicated relationships between the members.
The show (and band) is led by Riley Keough and Sam Claflin, who play Daisy and Billy, respectively. The two had no musical experience previous to their casting, and had to learn to sing and play instruments for the roles. They also joined the rest of the band (Suki Waterhouse, Will Harrison, Josh Whitehouse, and Sebastian Chacon) in a months-long band camp where they practiced playing together, learned the music, and became a real band.
The next question, of course, becomes: will they play a show as Daisy Jones & the Six? Suki Waterhouse just shared that that could be a real possibility. In an interview with Variety at an Oscars afterparty, she said, “I think we might be playing a show at some point as Daisy Jones.” Although she didn’t have details yet, it seems the demand by fans for a real concert (and tour) is being heard and is in the works.
Although Daisy Jones & the Six has never played a show for the public before, they did play a show for cast and crew before filming began. Hello Sunshine posted a TikTok of Sam Claflin introducing the band in a private show as part of their band practice. Needless to say, if this happened again with the public being able to attend, it would be a show to see.
While we wait for more news, Daisy Jones & the Six is available to stream on Prime Video with new episodes coming out every Thursday at 4pm PST. Aurora, their debut album of all original songs, is also available on all music streaming platforms.
