Summertime is approaching which means school is out and job/internship interviews are in (yay..). But, they don’t HAVE to be dreadful. Here are five tips to a successful interview!
1. Dress appropriately! The first impression is critical.
2. Shake the interviewers hand before and after you meet with them. It shows professionalism.
3. Come prepared but don’t memorize a script. Keep in mind you’re just having a conversation so dont freak out if you cant think right away, it is okay to take a moment to think of a response (no tears).
4. Make eye contact, don’t swivel or shake your chair, and don’t play with your hair/glasses/pick your nose; It is distracting.
5. It is okay to ask them questions; interviewers enjoy your curiosity and are usually willing to tell you what you want to know.
