This year has been tough. The first full school year during COVID. Already hard enough, schools are not giving a spring break to students. The amount of stressors can lead to burn out and self-doubt. I have compiled a list of affirmations to say to yourself when you need it.

  • I am bright, I am smart, I am talented, I will succeed.
  • Starting late does not mean I will fail.
  • I am worthy of my goals.
  • I will beat burnout.
  • I belong in this classroom, I belong in my major, I belong in school.
  • I deserve my education.
  • I am inspiring others and future students to succeed.
  • I will pass my classes, I will get my degree.
  • I can create change and I can help others.
  • One bad grade does not mean I am a failure.
  • The ignorance of others to see my worth does not define me.
  • I am intelligent and will break through barriers.

While affirmations themselves won’t cure everything, it is important to speak positively to oneself. Remember to speak kind to yourself as you would to others. You are worthy and every student is probably feeling similar things. Donā€™t give up and reach out for help when needed. You got this!
