Dear Women,
Sometimes the world wants to hold us down, but do not let it.
You should be unapologetically you at all times.
People will tell you how to dress,
Ignore them and wear what makes you comfortable.
If someone tells you that you’d be prettier if you just smile more,Â
Don’t smile for them, but keep true to your emotions.
If a friend backstabs you and betrays your trust,
Move on without them because they didn’t care enough to be true.
Sometimes taking a stand may seem political,
Sometimes it is morally right and a basic human right.Â
Use your voice because you were given it to share.
Speak your mind, your opinions, your truth, and be loud.Â
Don’t let someone say you’re too big or too small, just be healthy
Your mental health matters, so voice when you are mentally drained.Â
Don’t be afraid to say no!Â
You have every right to say no or change your mind at any moment.Â
You are important, and don’t let anyone say otherwise
You were born to be an original, so don’t die a copyÂ
Or what someone else wanted you to be.Â
Remember to always stand your ground and be unwavering.
Sometimes the bravest and most important thing you can do is just show up!
I believe in being strong even when things are tough,Â
But also be honest and ask for help when the going gets tough.Â
Leave a little sparkle wherever you go, and make your presence known.Â
Here is a quote that I really connect with by Mark Anthony,
“And one day she discovered that she was fierce and strong,Â
and full of fire and that not evenÂ
she could hold herself back
Because her passion burned
Brighter than her fears”
I wanted to write to you during Women’s History Month and just be real with you. There are a lot of things in your life and in society that you will come across if you haven’t already that are unfair. I just want you to know that you are not alone.
