It’s that time of year again–pumpkin patches, apple orchards, watching classic Halloween movies, drinking pumpkin spice lattes, and giving you a reason to dress insanely cute!
Here are a few essentials you need to make this fall your best ever!
Obviously, the most important one (well, at least for me) is coming up with the most chic, stylish outfit that best accommodates the wonderful weather. Yes, black and brown can go great together, if pulled off the right way! Styling the combo with a neutral color will keep the outfit more consistent. Also, let’s bring out those comfy sweaters, either cropped, off-the-shoulder, baggy or even that classic cardigan. It’s sweater season, baby! Embrace the sleeves!
Wear pink! October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and it’s the perfect excuse for everyone to wear pink, while supporting the cause at the same time! I love doing this because whenever I wear pink, I am reminded of someone I know who has fought breast cancer, and for those who have died fighting a courageous battle.
Catch up on some classic movies that put you in the spirit of the spooky season! It’s always a must for me to watch a little Hocus Pocus. This movie is seriously a classic in my book, and it brings out the nostalgia within me. Other great movies are Practical Magic, starring Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman, and of course, one of my all-time favorites, Halloweentown!
Fall is the perfect time to drink the most delicious hot drinks! You know its Fall when every-other girl is walking around campus with a Starbucks cup in hand, sipping on the classic, “Pumpkin Spiced Latte!” The delicious latte is filled with “espresso, pumpkin-flavored syrup, steamed milk, topped with sweetened whipped cream and pumpkin pie spices.” I really enjoy a chai latte or the tea version of the drink! These delicious flavors will definitely get you more in the spirit of the season!
Going to apple orchards was one the coolest things I have ever done! Last year, my friends and I took a drive to Wilson’s Apple Orchard, right outside of Iowa City, Iowa. This beautiful area was filled with different kinds of apples, a pumpkin patch and we even got to go on a hayride through the orchard. Talk about the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon!
