What better time to try a new skincare regimen than during quarantine?? So here’s a list of my favorites from the summer!Â
- CeraVe SA Renewing Facial Cleanser
-
Â
I have very acne-prone skin and this cleanser has made a world of difference! The best part of this product is that it’s equally as friendly on my wallet as it is on my skin.Â
- Garnier Skinactive Micellar Gel Cleanser
-
I am a strong advocate for double cleansing when I wear makeup during the day. Consider when you wash your hair. You use shampoo to get rid of all the dirt and oils that are built up in your hair during the day, but you use conditioner to help penetrate the hair follicle and with the intention that your hair will absorb the nutrients. A cleanser like Garnier’s super gentle Micellar gel will wash away the layer of makeup, dirt, and oil that rests above your pores. Then, the CeraVe cleanser is more effective. Â
- The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% Zinc 1%
-
I have combination/oily skin and this serum is heavenly on my skin. It prevents me from looking oily throughout the day but also doesn’t dry my skin out. I like to keep it localized around my T-Zone.
- The Ordinary Caffeine Solution
-
I have the unfortunate habit of staying up way too late, which gives me even more unfortunate under-eye circles. The Ordinary Caffeine Solution goes under my eyes and makes them appear much brighter and it’s good for wrinkles!
- Jade Roller
-
If I was lost in the desert and I could only take one item with me, I think I would pick this one. (If a boat wasn’t an option of course). I keep this in my fridge and the cooling sensation on my skin in the morning feels amazing. Plus, the Jade Roller helps my skin absorb all the nourishing ingredients from the serums I use.
- Cool Beads Face Mask
-
Keeping in tune with cold things, this bead face mask promotes anti-inflammation around my eyes and is my secret cure to a bad headache.
- The Ordinary AHA 30% BHA 2%
-
I love a good face mask when my skin is breaking out and this one, while a bit abrasive, is great when used sparingly.
- Aztec Healing Clay (used with apple cider vinegar)
-
When I’m looking for something to pull the gunk out of my skin, I use this clay mask. Make sure to not use this before an important event because clay masks draw toxins up and out of the skin. Essentially, your skin may get worse before it gets better.
- Mary Kay Naturally Nourishing Oil
-
After I use a face mask I like to treat my skin with a nice oil that gives back all the nutrients to my face. This Mary Kay one feels so luxurious and makes my skin glow the next day.
Bonus – I bought a 6 can (4 liter) mini fridge over the summer and it fits perfectly in the corner of my desk. It keeps my Jade Roller and my face masks nice and cold, which makes it that much more satisfying when I use them. Plus, I love using the serums cold in the mornings. It feels so refreshing on my skin. My favorite investment for the summer!
