As an education major, I am always under a huge pile of homework. When I am not procrastinating or practicing my instrument, I am usually trying to get through everything. I usually stay on campus, but there are some more places out there if you need a change of scenery.
- Galvin Fine Arts Center: As a music person, I live in this building basically. Especially at night, it is quiet and there is not a person in sight. It does get a bit scary once it is dark, but I have been able to finish all of my work in this building. I also like to eat and take naps here. Definitely a 10/10.
- Music House: This house is off-campus but technically a part of St. Ambrose. I have taken naps here. It is a good place to study, but it is a bit scary. There are also spiders in the computer lab, which is a big no for me. I did become friends with one of them, I hope he is doing okay. Definitely a 7/10.Ā
- Library: I only studied here like once or twice, and it was also on the weekend. It is a good place to write your research papers (especially if your research paper includes books). It really is not my vibe, but it is a good place to go. Definitely an 8/10.
- The Beehive: I spent most of my freshman year there and I am pretty sure I spent over $100 on the coffee and food. It gets pretty loud and rowdy once classes are let out. I like coming here to meet up with friends, but other than that I avoid as much as possible. Definitely a 6/10.
- The Brewed Book: This is a cafe located on Harrison St, which is within walking distance from campus. This was a gem I found on the internet when my friend was indecisive on what to do. It is a bookstore and cafe with many seating options. There is also really delicious coffee and an arsenal of books to purchase. There is also a cute piano that many people play on when they come in. There are even board games to play. The baristas are also nice as well. There are many college students that study there, so it is definitely a great place to study if you like the cafe setting. Definitely a 10/10.
- Fairmount Library: This is a local library that is about a few minutes away from campus. It is located on Fairmount St. I spent a lot of time here during the summer, and I like how small it is. It is also pretty quiet and is a good place to get stuff done. DefinitelyĀ a 9/10.
