It doesn’t take a genius to realize that there is something going on in society that is limiting life a bit. We always dream of professors cancelling class or getting a snow day, but we never thought it would go as far as to be cancelled for a prolonged amount of time and turned into online coursework through Blackboard. This is unlike anything most people have ever seen in their generation, but the best way to get through things like this is to focus on the positive and get through it together. Like most people, if you’re in college, you now have an extended spring break. Then, if you’re like me, you work at a restaurant which is now also limited on staffing due to changes there. So, what are we supposed to do all day now that we can’t really go anywhere to do anything? Great question! And I have a few solutions for you!

Get Some Old Scrap Booking Done
I have had the opportunity to go on so many amazing trips in the past few years, but have failed to actually document my memories anywhere past facebook. I save all of my ticket stubs and random artifacts from different locations, and all they have done is collect dust or get lost in my room. Time to get the loose ends tied and savor my memories!

Practice Your Instrument or Any Craft of Your Choosing
I am stoked to have some extra time to focus on my music and practice for rehearsals and gigs (once they are no longer postponed or cancelled). What better way to soak in a day (or a few) stuck inside with “nothing” to do! Time to make some music!

Order Carry-Out From Your Favorite Local Business
Emphasis on LOCAL. Times are tough and with businesses forced to make modifications that hurt their success, the least we can do is help them get through it. Plus, it’s a win-win because you get a tasty lunch or dinner in return for helping keep these businesses up and running when all of this is said and done.

Play Board Games With Friends
You know those nights where you felt like you didn’t have enough time to play Monopoly at a sleepover? Well, that’s a piece of cake now! With time on your side, it’s time to break out any board game of your choosing and play a few rounds with your besties to catch up or gather your family together as well.

Catch Up On Your Recent Hulu Addictions
Don’t make fun of me, but I have yet to watch the finale of The Bachelor!! I know exactly what I am doing in the next few days and it is finding out who Peter chooses. I also am excited to catch up on new episodes of Lego Masters and Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist as well as continue to binge through Brooklyn Nine-Nine!

Get Your Space Looking Fresh Again
This is something I struggle with on the daily. I’ll finally get my room clean on a Sunday night, and then by Wednesday I can barely see the floor and I proceed to give up on making it a priority because it just seems like such a lost cause. Well, since you don’t have much else to do anyway, thow on a favorite Spotify playlist or discover something new and give it a listen while you get your room back into order and dance and sing along, too!
Â
Read a Book You’ve Been Saving for a Rainy Day
This whole situation is close enough to that, so might as well check a book off your bucket list and hunker down with a cozy blanket and a hot chocolate. Cuddling up in a fuzzy blanket and escaping to another reality always makes things better!
Don’t Forget To Do Your Homework
Last, but not least, it is going to be so easy to get distracted and lose track of time with a schedule we are so not used to. The last time I think I did homework at home in the family room was when I was in high school. All in all, set the reminders you need to get those assignments done on time!

Let’s make the most of this, guys! There is so much to still be done no matter what!
