What do you know about the student government association? Unfortunately, many students don’t know a lot about what SGA does for the Ambrose community. This week’s Campus Celebrity aims to change that. Tyler Tosch, sophomore class president, wants collegiettes™ to know that he, as a part of the student government, would like to make SAU a place we can all call home.
Ty represents his class in SGA by listening to suggestions and concerns that his peers may have. Although he is a class president, he plays the same role as the other members of SGA. He is “a resource that students can use if they have any questions about the campus.”
However, he isn’t just here to answer questions. As a part of SGA, he helps students start new clubs and assists in bringing special events to Ambrose. They have funds reserved to delegate to students who bring ideas to SGA that will benefit the entire Ambrose community.
This year, Ty is hoping that SGA can reach more students and build up “campus-wide involvement.” He is especially looking forward to Last Blast weekend and SOMDay. Student government is very involved with this popular event. It was very successful last year and Ty hopes to make it even better this year.
So, if you have any suggestions on how SGA can help make St. Ambrose more like “home,” or an idea for a special event you would like to see here, don’t hesitate to ask. Tyler Tosch is the guy to go to. He works hard on SGA to make this community an inclusive and enjoyable one. With the help of the student body, Ty’s dedication could bring great changes to SAU.
When asked what he would want to have if he was stranded on a desert island, Ty answered, “I would like a global cell phone, a yacht, and enough food and water to last me 1 year.”
