Day in my Life- The Bonaventure WayÂ
As I geared up for my 20th birthday this past Monday, I wanted to start the new decade for me on a positive note. I decided to make Sunday, the day before, extra blissful so I would wake up on March 20th feeling refreshed.Â
I started the day with a trip to Dunkin’ with my friend Nat. Nat and I have been friends since orientation, and technically a little before that when we spotted eachothers fun introductions to the Bonaventure 2025 Facebook group.Â
We went to the drive thru, got our breakfast and morning beverages and were off to Mt. Irenaeus for 11 a.m. Mass; this was Nat’s first time there! I go to Mass every Sunday but recently I have been loving going to church in the morning rather than in the evening. It sets my mind right and makes me a lot more cheerful throughout the day.Â
After blasting Taylor Swift, we arrived in the snowy parking lot and said hello to the Mountain family. I spent the summer at the Mountain so they were overjoyed at our surprise arrival! After a beautiful Mass, we ate a delicious homemade brunch with the community and chatted about me and Nat’s majors and favorite SNL actors.Â
We said goodbye to everyone and drove our way back to campus, once again, blasting Taylor Swift (as Nat and I always do). Nat loved the Mountain and I am so excited to bring her back soon!Â
Right as we pulled into campus, around 2 p.m., we collected our things and walked over to the Quick Center for the Arts, our friend Allie had a piano recital and a few of our other friends were singing as well! The recital was beautiful and Allie, as always, was amazing at her piece. Some of us may have shed a tear.Â
Then, all of our friends, rejoined in the lobby, congratulated Allie and we made our way to Hickey for a post-recital lunch and debrief of the weekend. It being warm out and being able to laugh with all of my friends at the big tables always warms my heart.
A good slice of Hickey pizza later, I went with my friends Riley and Ellie to Butler Basement to watch their dance rehearsals for the next few hours, with another Hickey dinner break during practice. Even though I am actually on the dance team, I consider myself their number one groupie and I love all of their members so dearly.Â
They did a mock run of the show and it is coming along great! The dances are like a breath of fresh air.
By 9:30, it was time to go back to Dev and lay out my outfit for the next day! I never usually do this, but the theme of today was to feel bliss- organization is bliss.Â
After my night time routine, I crawled into bed and wished myself a happy early birthday!
