At Saint Bonaventure University you heard a roar in Loughlin Hall after the Philadelphia Eagles won Super Bowl fifty-two, 41-33. On Sunday Feb. 4, 2018. The Philadelphia Eagles (13-3) beat defending champions the New England Patriots (13-3) at U.S Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, MN. This was the Eagles first Super Bowl win in franchise history. Eagles QB, Nick Foles, finished 28 of 43, passed for 373 yards, and three touchdowns. He was named the most valuable player. Nick Foles put on quite the performance, led the pack, and made the biggest play of his career. He threw to TE Zack Ertz with 2:21 to go in the game which led to a touchdown.

The Eagles defense stepped up at the most crucial point of the game. QB Tom Brady, with 2:21 left to play down 38-33 in the fourth quarter got sacked by Brandon Graham, which led to a fumble. In most situations, Brady was the in the perfect position to throw the perfect pass, but the Eagles defense took over. This might have been the biggest play in Philadelphia Eagles history.

The Eagles brought their “A-game” from the start of the season after going 13-3 in the regular season. I still cannot believe the run the Eagles made after losing starting QB Carson Wentz in Week 14. They didn’t let the loss to Wentz stop them from fighting for their dream.

Nothing made me happier than seeing the Eagles beat the Patriots. I am from Long Island, NY and I am a die-hard New York Jets fan. After the deflated football incident last season with the New England Patriots, I love to see such a dedicated and hardworking or team win the championship. Last season, the Eagles were last in the NFC East and went 7-9. It is incredible to see how one year can completely change an organization. A lesson that can be learned from the Eagles is that it takes talent, hard work, determination, and commitment to win a Super Bowl.
