I know this trend has sort of fallen off, but I’m all for reviving it! Unfortunately, my life is far less aesthetic than I would like it to be which is a consequence of my college campus and location, but here’s to making the best of it.
Here’s what I’ve been up to lately:
R: Reading- Khan Academy LSAT Reading Comprehension Passages
As a busy bee and overcommitted college gal, I unfortunately do not have much as much free time as I would like to for reading. However, one thing I force myself to make time for is practicing for the LSAT.
I hope to take the LSAT exam some time late next year and attend law school after graduation. This exam is known for being difficult, so I’m trying to get ahead of it as best I can.
Fortunately, Khan Academy, like their SAT prep course, has a free LSAT prep course that I’ve spent a lot of time working on this year. Included in the course is timed sections featuring reading comprehension questions, analysis and practice.Â
They are far from easy, but practice makes perfect.
E: Eating- Hummus + Hot Sauce
The food at St. Bonaventure isn’t exactly inedible, but it’s far from amazing.
That’s why every student here has a constant, foolproof snack/meal they can grab in case of emergency (mysterious Hickey mush for dinner), including me.
My foolproof meal is hummus and pita chips or whatever suspiciously squishy steamed vegetable is being passed as food doused, sorry, DRENCHED in hot sauce. It’s consistent and somewhat edible, which is basically delicious in college dining hall terminology.
P: Playing- The Sims 4
I know no greater joy than playing The Sims 4. It’s the best video game maybe ever created, super user friendly and is a great outlet when you just need five seconds to chill out.
I’ve been super busy this week and haven’t had much time to completely relax, but playing The Sims 4 is just a fun way to escape reality for a little bit.
O: Obsessing- 80’s Music
I recently planned an 80’s themed Aprés Ski party and was really feeling the vibe. The playlist, and the party, was an absolute hit and it was so fun to play dress up!
My best friends from home also came up for the night, an added bonus, and even they said the playlist was perfect, or at least close to perfect.
Everyone needs some KC and the Sunshine Band or a little Madonna in their life!
R: recommending- Underwear Dance Parties
In true Grey’s Anatomy fashion, sometimes the best thing you can do to feel like yourself again is to have a good ol’ underwear dance party. Pants off is not a requirement-a dance party is a dance party! Turn on some tunes and bust a move! There’s truly nothing more fun or energizing.
T: Treating- The Olean Dunkin’
Sometimes a girl just needs a french vanilla iced coffee from the Olean, NY, Dunkin’. It’s the little things in life that bring the greatest joy.Â
While this local Dunkin’ seems to be a highly controversial establishment, I am here to dispel all the rumors: the Olean Dunkin’ is perfect.
Some of my favorite memories have happened there, such as when I first discovered a bacon, egg and cheese on a multigrain bagel, when I tried butter pecan coffee and when my favorite Olean Dunkin’ employee asked who was going to get her a McChicken.Â
The baristas are also impressive. I know my coffee is going to be absolutely perfect when St. Bonaventure University students are working the counter!
If the Olean Dunkin’ has one fan, it’s me. If the Olean Dunkin’ has a million fans, I am one. If the Olean Dunkin’ has no fans, I am dead.
